Do you regularly receive large work-related e-mail attachments? Do you need to send and receive large files from your clients? Using e-mail for this purpose is prone to problems due to mailbox size quotas and potential file corruption from the text encoding process. L A Bridge customers reported that they were struggling with this issue so we created a custom solution. We now offer this new service called "Drop Box" as an add-on to any existing plan you have with L A Bridge.

The Drop Box includes the following:

• A unique FTP login name exclusively for you to give to your clients
• E-mail notices that immediately alert you to the existence of a new file in the drop box
• An HTTP upload interface for you clients who don't have FTP client software

Why would you want this?

• Impress your clients by offering them a simple, elegant and professional means of transferring files to you
• Have peace of mind knowing your clients original files are backed-up up off-site should you need to revert to the original
• Save time by offering your customers a web based upload box, reducing the FTP training necessary with less technical clients

How does it work?
The Drop Box is an add-on to your existing web hosting service. Your clients log-in using an "unprivileged" username that does not allow them to see any other files in your Drop Box. The files they upload are dropped into a sub-folder in your web directory. This allows you to retrieve the files using your existing "fully privileged" FTP account. This is secure because your customers would not be able to see, download or modify other files in your directory nor would they be able to connect to it via a standard ftp client or through a web interface.

How am I notified when files arrive?
E-mail support@LABridge.com and specify an address where the notices should be sent. Each time a new file is dropped in your drop box you will receive a e-mail notification advising you that a file has been uploaded to your drop box and is now available for you do download.

If you are an existing Web-Hosting client the drop box will be as large as your existing web-hosting directory and will add another 10MB to your total storage. If you don't have a web-hosting account with L A Bridge your drop box will be a 10Mb box that can be upgraded for more space.
