Network
Control Panel
First
you need to open the Network Control Panel. You and it
by clicking on the Windows Start button and select Settings
> Control Panel. Now
find the Network Control Panel and open it.

Ethernet
Adapter
Now find the PCI Ethernet Adapter for your ethernet card.
Once you find it, select it and click Properties. See example
image below.

TCP/IP
Driver For Ethernet Adapter
Click the Bindings tab in the PCI Ethernet Adapter Properties
window. Check the TCP/IP protocol for your ethernet adapter.
Click OK. See example image below.

TCP/IP
Protocol
Next, select the TCP/IP protocol for your Ethernet Card and
click Properties. See example image below.

Configuring IP Address
Click on the IP Address tab in the TCP/IP Properties
window. Change the IP Address settings set to Obtain an IP
address automatically. See example image below.

Special Window ME(Millennium
Edition) IP Address Settings.
Configuring Windows ME is exactly the same as Windows 98 with
the exception to the contents of the IP Address
tab. In the bottom of the IP Address tab select Detect
connection to network media. See example image below.

DNS Configuration
Next click on the DNS Configuration tab. Set the DNS to
Disable DNS. See example image below.

WINS
Configuration
Next click on the WINS Configuration tab. The WINS settings
can be left alone, but you want the Use DHCP for WINS Resolution
checked. See example image below.

Gateway
Next click on the Gateway tab. If there are any gateways
under Installed gateways select them and click Remove.

Configuration Complete
Now click on OK and restart your computer.
